Founded June, 2011 BRM is part guilty pleasure and part day job. It is the manifestation of how I fuse work and play. Over the next few years, I intend to build up a body of work that includes every inch of trail and two-track in the state of Idaho, while exploring the unique history and culture of the Gem State’s coolest off the beaten path places.
Additionally, in February of 2012 I will be embarking on an around the world exploration that was originally completed by my dad, Terry, in 1977-78. He rode a Honda XL250 from Sydney to Los Angeles during a time when the Middle East was relatively safe, and China was completely out of the question. Oh, how times have changed…
My journey will include roughly 85% of my dad’s original route, with the addition of China, minus Afghanistan and Iran. Upon my return–with a little help from the old man–I will publish all media content from the trip, including cultural comparisons from the 70′s to now. Geopolitics, global sentiment, the human condition, the ride… all are important elements that make this project unique and a fantastic learning experience.
I will share video footage, print updates, recorded satellite phone conversations, and an ongoing blog about the trip. I’m even working on bringing certain elements in real time to this site.
